A town’s young people will be given a platform to share their views.

Thetford Town Council are setting up a youth council to provide teenagers a voice for all young people across the town.

Those who become part of the youth council will be able to get involved in the work of the town council and take part in events, activities and projects.

To apply, candidates should live in Thetford, be aged between 13 and 17-years-old, be willing to help the council get young people’s ideas about how to improve the town, and celebrate their achievements.

The first meeting for those interested will be held on Thursday, September 14 from 7pm at St Peter’s Church.

After the first meeting, youth council members will need to attend a meeting at least every six weeks and commit to the group for a minimum of one year. To get involved contact councillors Jenny Hollis 07854766501 or Brenda Canham on 01842 762777
