Students from Thetford Grammar and Thetford Academy saw the landscape change before their eyes at an educational open day at Breckland Retail Park.
Year 10-13 pupils learnt about the construction process with how virtual reality and CGI technology is being used in design and build projects to review, plan and mitigate risks.
Hosted by RTS Construction Group and partnered by Careys Civil Engineering and Urban Edge Architecture, the Open Day was designed to provide an exciting insight into large-scale construction.
David Rose from RTS Construction Group said: “It was about showing pupils how we collectively have brought Breckland Retail Park to life from design and planning to groundworks to management using the latest technology, expert knowledge and skillsets.
The majority of those subjects studied at school, maths, physics, IT, art, DT, economics and business, are so in demand in the construction industry.”
