A boarded-up bus station toilet block is set to be reopened following complaints from residents and passengers.
The rundown lavatories at Thetford were closed by Breckland Council earlier this year ahead of a transfer of public toilets to the town council.
But civic leaders have agreed to step in and reopen the bus station facilities after listening to the views of townsfolk at a public meeting this week.
Thetford town councillors heard on Wednesday that at least one coach company in the town had offered to help pay for the maintenance and running costs of the toilets. Norfolk County Council and Breckland Council are currently working on relocating the bus station in Thetford.
The town council, which already looks after the Cage Lane and Castle Park toilets, has set aside £10,000 for the station lavatories, which are set to cost £2,000 a year for electricity, water and sewage bills and an extra £2,000 reconnection fee.
