Ju Jitsu students’ pole marathon aids Help for Heroes

Students from the Thetford, Dereham, Watton and Caston Ju Jitsu clubs met at the Thetford Leisure Centre to start a demanding challenge for their chosen charity, Help for Heroes.
Their challenge was to carry a telegraph pole with six students holding the log by ropes through the log for a distance of 14 miles without stopping or letting the log touch the floor. Six teams of six who took turns to carry the log for half a mile while the rest of the students walking or running alongside.
They set off from Thetford Leisure Centre, where Trevor Steward started his first Ju Jitsu club in 2000. The route took us through Croxton village out into the country side, alongside the army barracks onto the A1075. They received great support along the way from car drivers, cyclists and runners.
