Dereham end season with a pair of wins

After a disappointing season, Dereham Men’s A team completed their league fixtures in fine style by winning their last two games.

The latest of them was at home against Wymondham Dell B, with Dereham winning by six points to one, 88 shots to 74.

Rink scores were: R Pitt, D West, D Bower, C Taylor 25-18; M Hughes, A Mobbs, G Crane, P Webster 23-16; T Wright, G Roberts, J Chaney, R Rudling 21-15; J Lacey, J Chapman, P Lambert, T Rudling 19-25.

Dereham will be hosting the Norfolk County Women Indoor Bowling Association Ladies Club and County finals on Sunday, April 23.

Singles and triples are at 10am and pairs and fours at 2pm, all are welcome.

On Saturday, May 13, 10am to noon, a new six-week beginners’ course will start. If anyone would like to learn the indoor bowling game, just come along, or contact Terry on 01362 525 042.

Junior coaching continues every Friday, between 4pm and 6pm, term time only. Contact as above.

Thetford Dolphins Swimming Club took part in the first round of the Norfolk Junior League held in Dereham.

The young team of nine to 12-year-olds finished the gala in a respectable third place and will now compete for the Christine Clark Cup in the final round.
