Residents are being urged to have their say to help draw up council ward boundaries for one of England’s newest local authorities.

The new council will be created next year and West Suffolk Council will replace Forest Heath and St Edmundsbury councils.

Proposals for new ward boundaries to be represented by councillors in each authority have been drawn up by the Local Government Boundary Commission for England.

The draft recommends there should be 64 councillors representing 27 one-councillor wards, 17 two-councillor wards and one three-councillor wards.

The boundaries would come into effect at the first elections in May 2019.

The consultation is asking if residents agree with the proposals and if they can be improved to reflect local communities.

Visit www.lgbce.org.uk to have your say.

The consultation will closes on August 27.
