Items including tools, mobile phones and cash have been taken from works vehicles in Norfolk over the past few days.

The thefts took place in Thetford, Dereham and Holt areas and police are reminding owners of business vehicles to keep them secure and to remove valuables.

In some instances the vans were insecure but in others they were forced open.

Police are advising people that items of value should be removed from vehicles whilst unattended and vehicles should be parked in a secure garage where available, on a driveway with appropriate lighting, or in a well-lit public place. They also advised that people should consider fitting an alarm to their works vehicle.

● Anyone with information about theft from motor vehicles should contact Norfolk Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
