Soap star to open Thetford store

THETFORD’S new Poundland store will open next week with a special guest star.

Shoppers will be able to spend their pennies from Thursday and on the following Saturday Emmerdale’s Charlotte Bellamy, aka Laurel Thomas, will sign autographs and have her picture taken with fans.

From 11am Ms Thomas will give out £1 vouchers, which shoppers can exchange for anything in store.

The new shop will be located on King Street and create 22 jobs.

An independent probe into allegations three Norfolk academies received advance notice of Ofsted inspection dates has found that “on the balance of probabilities” no one at the schools was unfairly tipped off.

Chad Hogben was among six people and one business who came out on top in the first Big Skill Awards, at a ceremony in front of The Forum in Norwich.
