A charity is encouraging people to help make a difference to their community and help people coping with death, dying and bereavement.

St Nicholas Hospice Care is looking to add to its trustees and associates and is inviting anyone who thinks they may be able to fulfil either role to attend an open evening to find out more.

The event, held at the Hardwick Lane Hospice in Bury St Edmunds, will allow people to find out about the roles and to speak to current trustees.

Trustees for the hospice, which cares for and those across west Suffolk and Thetford, have a wide range of skills including in finance, law and IT.

Charles Simpson, the chairman of the charity’s board of trustees, said: “St Nicholas Hospice Care delivers amazing services which give those in the final chapters of their lives across our community the very best end-of-life experiences.

“Being a trustee or associate allows you to be part of that, giving you the chance to work with professionals with a range of skills who all help guide the hospice team as they continue to provide care and support across our community.”

The open evening will be held on Thursday, March 2 and will start at 5pm and there is no need to book.

If you can’t attend the evening, but are still interested in a trustee or associate role you can call 01284 766133 or email enquires@stnh.org.uk
