A laugh-out-loud coming of age comedy about sexual identity that was a hit at last year’s Holt Festival is being rolled out across the county.

Rubber Ring by playwright James McDermott is a fast-paced one-man comedy set in Sheringham, and based on his own experiences as a working-class Morrissey-obsessed teenager growing up in rural Norfolk.

Mr McDermott said: “Growing up I felt like a ghost no one believed in, as my county was rarely represented onstage. I wrote Rubber Ring to better understand East Anglian life and by touring it around East Anglia I hope to help others feel less invisible.”

The show comes to Ovington village hall on January 27 at 7.30pm, supported by arts and community charity Creative Arts East. It’s also on at Sheringham Little Theatre on Saturday, May 5 and Wymondham Central Hall, on Saturday, May 12.
