Hand grenade found in Mildenhall woods

Bomb disposal teams were called to reports of a suspected hand grenade found in woodland.

A member of the public raised the alarm and police officers attended the scene near Mulberry Close off Thetford Road in Mildenhall at 1.10pm yesterday (Friday).

A bomb disposal unit from Colchester was also called to the site where a controlled explosion was carried out.
