Firefighters attend Thetford house fire

Firefighters were called to deal with a fire at a house in Thetford on Saturday.

The incident happened shortly after 3am in Harwood Avenue and fire crews from Thetford and Brandon used hose reel jets and a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots.

They returned to their base at 3.39am. There were no reports of any casualties.

A THETFORD soldier is among six brave men awarded top military bravery honours for their heroics in the Helmand province of Afghanistan last summer.

The Military Cross was awarded to the soldiers from the 1st battalion, the Royal Anglian Regiment who took on the Taliban and forced them out of their strongholds.
