An artist is being sought to create a painting which will mark the anniversary of the end of the First World War next year.

The mural will be on a wall in Thetford’s market place directly opposite the guildhall.

The artist will be commissioned by Thetford Town Council, with the authority saying it would like the mural of a poppy field to be trompe l’oeil - a style of art in which things are painted in a way that makes them look like real objects.

The caption A Nation’s Tribute 1918-2018, will also be included.

A design has been created but it can be improved by the articles employed to complete the project.

Submit electronic samples of work, a price for the completed mural, and details of when the projected would be completed to mail@thetfordtowncouncil.gov.uk

Submissions must be made by August 2.

For more information contact Roz Barnett on 01842 754247.
