A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after being assault in Brandon this evening.

Emergency services were called to Leamon Court in the west Suffolk town at around 6.10pm after reports that a man had been assaulted.

A Suffolk Constabulary spokesman said that one man has been taken to hospital with injuries that are believed to be serious.

Police at the scene said they had arrested one person on suspicion of assault, who is currently being held for questioning.
