Over the next two weeks the 48th Fighter Wing, based at RAF Lakenheath, will increase their flying operations.

Although they may be seen more frequently, the base has said there are no plans for low-altitude or night flying in East Anglia.

A spokesman for the 48th Fighter Wing said: “These operations facilitate a number of training requirements for both aircrew and support personnel on the ground, and are necessary to ensure a ready and capable force.”

RAF Lakenheath is the US Air Force’s only F-15 fighter wing in Europe and is home to the F-15E and the F-15C.

In 2021 the first of the F-35A Lightning IIs will touch down at the base.

Anyone with aircraft-related flying concerns is asked to contact the Ministry of Defence at SWK-lowflying@mod.gov.uk
