After reading the item in this weeks paper I was concerned that people want to build on what is essencially green belt land. The whole idea of living in a "village" is for the "village life" and that includes the birds. What seams to be happening here is that the farmers are havinga rough time at the moment and trying to cash in, and the land owner in question is using the writer of this piece to get it passed. This is not the first time as before with the intension of building 99 houses on the village playing fields. This almost caused the closure of the village hall by the monies being exhausted.
In the end this type of project is detrimental to the enviroment and also upsets the ballance in the "village". I know that I for one moved here over 20 years ago to get out of the rat race. If I, and others, who express the same veiws, had wanted to live in a built up metropolis then we would of moved there. The whole idea of a "village" is that its small and personel. Everyone knows who you are and you can also have your own space. May be if the writer of this article is so keen to have his enviroment built up then he should move out of the VILLAGE.
Oxford English Dictoinary - VILLAGE - small group of houses in a country area - rural community.
