well what can i say....the end!!! what a shame, i spent most of my childhood with the troope for nearly10 years ,and have loads of great memories..
i started when i was about 8 and for every weekend over the summer i think we covered nearly every carnival in norfolk!! we'd hop in the mini bus and off we'd go ..getting changed and having hair done on the way..so we were set and ready to perform. What ever the weather we were there come rain or shine.
I was one of 6 to first to go to the national baton twirling compertitions in torbay where we entered for the first time, watched and took part in the whole experience..and what a week it was!! From then on we went back every year and continued to improve winning trophies all the way!!(a lot of good times were had ..even mini buses breaking down on the way ..BUT WE STILL GOT THERE TO COMPETE!!)
I left the troop after leaving college..i then had a daughter of my own and took her back briefly when she was 3 and lent a hand with training the little ones..my daughter did not want to continue as she was quite young..but that did not stop us reading regular updates in the news paper and how they'd got on at compertitions...and representing england what an incredible experience that must be ...good luck girls for that ...it will be a shame to see you break up...but i hope you end it on a high!!!
i'll always remember my times with the troop and have the photos too!!!

HI

I was with the Abbey Twirlettes for over 11 years.

We had lots of fun, attending displays, carnivals and entering competitions with the National Baton Twirling Association.

I was with the team when we came first to represent England for the first time at the World Championships in Birmingham. We were also invited onto Blue Peter to show part of our routine!

Abbey have progressed so much since they started and it is a shame they had to finish.

I attended their final party on 12 april and it was nice to catch up with the people there.

I will always thank Mandy Hill for all her hard work in teaching all of us and looking after us when we went to Devon every year for the National Championships.

Thanks
